Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 aims to combat slavery and human trafficking in the UK by consolidating previous offences. DCNV UK and DCNV BE maintain a zero-tolerance approach toward modern slavery and are fully committed to preventing it within our operations and supply chain.

Modern slavery is a grave crime that robs individuals of liberty and dignity. Every company faces the risk of involvement through its operations or suppliers. We wholeheartedly support the government’s goal to eradicate this injustice and call on all partners to boost transparency and accountability in their global supply chains.

What DCNV UK & DCNV BE are doing

  • Reporting mechanisms — confidential channels for employees, customers and suppliers to report any suspicions of slavery or trafficking without fear of retaliation.
  • Code of Conduct — clear guidance for all staff on acting ethically and upholding the highest standards throughout our supply chain.
  • Supplier sanctioning — we take action against any supplier that fails to meet our ethical requirements.
  • Supplier attestations — every supplier must confirm that they:
    • Fully comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
    • Operate with complete transparency, accountability and audibility.
    • Employ no forced, compulsory or slave labour.
    • Ensure all staff work voluntarily and may leave with reasonable notice.
    • Do not withhold salaries, deposits, passports or work permits.
    • Purchase rough diamonds only after verifying Kimberley Process certification and confirming stones are conflict-free.

By working together with our suppliers and partners, we aim to help eradicate the cruelty of modern slavery and human trafficking from all aspects of the diamond industry.
